Warri Diocese which was created on the 10th of March 1964, from Lagos Ecclesiastical Province with eight Parishes and tow indigenous Priests who are still alive, they are Msgr. Ogbaide and Nyeweyoma. Warri Diocese covered 16 Local Government Areas of Delta State with 125 Priests, 75 Rev. Sisters, 120 Parishes and Chaplaincy and 17 Deaneries.
His Lordship, Most Rev. John Oke` Afareha officially declared opened the 50years celebration of the existence of Warri Diocese on Saturday 15th March, 2014 at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Warri.
