By Godwin-Maria Utuedoye,

The Government and people of Plateau State On Friday, November 27 of November, 2019 held an inter-faith farewell banquet in honour of the former Archbishop and Apostolic Administrator of the Catholic Archdiocese of Jos.

The event which was held at the Government House, Rayfield, Jos had the crème de la crème of State and Church in attendance.

His farewell to the Archdiocese of Jos is coming after the Holy Father, Pope Francis finally accepted the retirement of John Cardinal Onaiyekan, as the Archbishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja, and Archbishop Ignatius Kaigama appointed to succeed him.

The outgoing archbishop however expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the people of Plateau State and the entire Catholic faithful and all religious leaders for their love, cooperation and understanding while he was in Jo’s. He prayed God to continue to restore peace back to the country Nigeria so that all could live in harmony.

We continue to rejoice with His Grace as we pray for a successful installation ceremony.
