Catholic Bishop of Warri Diocese, Most Rev. John Afareha urged media practitioners to always report truth and be factual in their reportage.
The bishop who described media workers as the bridge between facts and society, noted that as a mirror in the society, it is germane for them to always report the truth but not lies that could cause confusion.
In his words, “Failure to tell the truth as its duty and role, would lead the world into chaos as false and misinformation causes disharmony, hatred and wars”.
While commending the efforts of the media, Most Rev. John Afareha call on all media professionals to be objective, bold and courageous in reporting the truth.
“Your profession is also a means of evangelization as through you the world can know God, so be let truth and facts be your hallmark, he reiterated “.
The bishop congratulated all media practitioners as they celebrate the World Day of Communication and ask God to continue to protect them and bless the work of their hands.
