Charity: New Priests Rectory Donated To Church, Dedicated For Use

WARRI DIOCESE:- It was a grateful moment and a huge relief for Catholics in Uzere Kingdom, Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State when an ultra modern priests rectory built and furnished by one of her sons, High Chief Dr. Bashorun Askia Ogieh was officially handed over to the Church and blessed for full habitation.

The handing over and dedication ceremony held on Saturday, June 22, 2019 attracted crēmē dela crēmē of the society and was presided over by the Vicar-General of the Diocese of Warri, Rev. Fr. Col. (RTD), Martins Akusu who represented the bishop of Warri Diocese, Most Rev. John Afareha.

 

In his sermon, Bishop John Afareha represented by his Vicar General, Rev. Fr. Akusu, eulogised the sterling contributions of High Chief Hon. Dr. Bashorun Askia Ogieh and his undaunted commitment, sacrifice and godly spirit in ensuring the servant of God is sheltered in a conducive and peaceful atmosphere with modern facilities.

 

Rev. Fr. Col. Akusu prayed God to provide for him and his family in all they do in life. He urged the donor not to relent in his support to the work of God and humanity no matter the discouragement that may come his way in the cause of trying to help.

 

Commending the efforts of Rev. Fr. Ambrose Onyewuchi, the parish priest, the Vicar General noted that; his initiative towards putting up a befitting structure for the priest is a bold step that needed to be applauded.

 

He also congratulated the parish priest on his 25th priestly anniversary which was celebrated same day and prayed God to grant him the wisdom and strength to continue his ministry.

 

In his remarks, Rev. Fr. Ambrose Onyewuchi described the dedication of the parish house as a mission accomplished and expressed his heartfelt gratitude to God who made what he described as historic possible in his tenure as parish priest

 

Highpoint of the ceremony was the official cutting of the tape and the handing over of the keys to the Vicar General by the donor who was later prayed for alongside his family and friends.
