1. January 30, 2016: Opening Ceremony to take place at Sacred Heart Cathedral Warri.
Time: 12noon
Highlight: Opening of the Door of Mercy
2. February 02, 2016: Closing of Year for Consecrated Life and Jubilee Year of Mercy for Consecrated Life. Host is Sapele Region in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Abraka.
3. February 6, 2016: Opening of the Door of Mercy at Regional designated Churches. This event is proposed to take place simultaneously at 12pm in churches approved by the Bishop. Regional vicars should also lead their people on pilgrimage to the centre, being the Cathedral.
4. February 13, 2016: Walk for Mercy at Parish level.
Highlights: Mass at 9am followed by walk, rosary, carrying of banners and other mercy inspired captions on cardboard papers. Walk Ends with Benediction.
5. February 28, 2016: Mass for lawyers in the diocese and JDPC members (representatives from all parishes in the diocese) at the Cathedral. Time:10am with a mandate to set prisoners free especially the innocently convicted and resolution of judicial matters.
6. April 3: Divine Mercy Sunday: Emphasis on Divine Mercy and reconciliation during homily.
In the Evening: Holy Hour with divine mercy rosary and Benediction.
7. April 9, 2016: Jubilee for those inspired by the charism of Mercy and Jubilee for the sick and the physically challenged (Diocesan) at the Cathedral.
Time: 10am – Special attention to Doctors, nurses, medical workers, care-givers, health workers, members of St. Vincent de Paul Society.
8. May 1, 2016: Jubilee of Mercy for Catholic Men Organisation. Host is Kwale Region at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Kwale. Time: 10am.
9. May 3, 2016: Visitation to the needy at Parish level with gifts generated by theindividual parishes.
10. June 15, 2016: Jubilee year of mercy for Priests at the Jubilee Conference Centre, Effurun. Highlights: Lecture Emphasizing Reconciliation with God and one another. Healing of old wounds and unpleasant memories, and forgiving the past. Confession and Mass
11. July 30, 2016: Jubilee for young People in the diocese (Youth). Host is Ughelli region by St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Otovwodo. Time:12noon.
12. August 2016: Jubilee for Seminarians during the summer school
13. August 27, 2016: Jubilee of Mercy for Catholic Women Organisation. Host is Warri region by St. Michael’s Catholic Church, DSC. Time 12noon
14. September 24, 2016: Jubilee Year of Mercy for Catechists in the diocese. Host is Oleh region by St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Oleh. Time is 12noon.
15. October 31, 2016: Pilgrimage to Oleri Shrine featuring confession, rosary, lecture and Mass. To begin at 9am.
16. November 5, 2016: Jubilee of Mercy for Prisoners
Highlight: Regional Vicars are to visit the prisons within their jurisdiction and Celebrate the Eucharist and feed the inmates. Vicars are to make prior arrangement with the prison authorities.
17. November 12, 2016: Close of the Year of Mercy at the Cathedral.

– Priest dispensation to absolve reserved sins
– Facilitation of annulment processes according new norms/A seminar to be organized.
– Mission to set prisoners free by lawyers and JDPC
– Emphasis on Penitential services and Sacrament of Reconciliation (deanery quaterly arrangement )
– Emphasis on the sacrificial character of the celebration
– Parishes are to prepare couples for group marriages
– Emphasis on the Corporal and Spiritual works of mercy.
– Official prayer for the year of mercy to be placed in parish bulletins and prayed at parish masses on Sunday.
– Confirmation to be done not at the parish level but at deanery level.
– Special focus to be given or dedicated to the Jubilee year of mercy in electronic and print media of the diocese.
