“Give thanks to the Lord for He is good for his love endures forever.” The Missionary Sisters of Jesus and Mary of the Catholic Diocese Warri Celebrated the first religious profession of Srs. Mary Dolores Udidi Akpojotor, MSJM, and Mary Angela Agbaria Lomi, MSJM on the 9th of August 2016 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Oleh at 10am. The Mass of the Profession was presided over by the Catholic Bishop of Warri and the founder of the Missionary Sisters of Jesus and Mary, Most Rev. John OkeOghene Afareha with priests and religious from within and outside the diocese.
In his homily, Rev.Fr. Ekene of the Archdiocese of Ibadan reminded everyone especially the professing sisters of the responsibility that comes with the call of God and the limitations of the human person. He however exhorts them not to be afraid but be open to the grace and strength of the Holy Spirit and not rely on any human person. He reflected on the evangelical counsels of poverty, chastity and obedience and enjoined them to the mindful of the kind of world in which they have been called to serve.
At the end of the Mass, the bishop called on Isoko sons and daughters who are eligible, to consider and embrace the vocation to the priesthood and religious life after the example of Srs. Mary Dolores MSJM and Mary Angela MSJM. There was a reception ceremony after the Mass as the entire ceremony was filled with joy and fun.
