Catholic media practitioners hold national convention in Lagos

Lagos-Nigeria, Missionary Newspaper; July 31, 2018:-THE Catholic Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria CAMPAN, will on Thursday, August 2 through August 5, 2018 holds its national convention in Lagos.
With the theme;  “The role of Catholic Media in Nation Building’’, the convention is expected to attract media practitioners from all Catholic dioceses in Nigeria as well as directors of social communications in dioceses across Nigeria.
According to a statement made available to newsmen and signed by the National President of CAMPAN, Patrick Osu and the Lagos Archdiocesan chairman of CAMPAN, Tony Kelechi Agbugba, the convention will hold at the Clementine Hall of Lumen Christi Resort and Cinemas located at  Osapa in Lekki, Lagos State.
The statement disclosed that the convention will begin with a Holy Mass at Saints Philip and James Catholic Church, Lekki with the Metropolitan Archbishop of Lagos, His Grace Most Rev. Alfred Adewale Martins as chief celebrant.
The statement further revealed that, the Episcopal Chairman for Social Communications of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria, and auxiliary bishop of Onitsha Archdiocese, Most Rev. Dennis Isizoh, will deliver a keynote address that focus on the theme and as well declare the convention open.
It added that, Rev. Fr. Dr.  Christian Anyanwu, the National Director of Social Communications at the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria CSN, will also speak on topic, “The Catholic Church and the Communications Apostolate in Nigeria: An overview’’.
Meanwhile, the chairman and founder of Lumen Christi Television, Prince Soji Olagunju, will address delegates on “Faith-based media; a catalyst for citizens’ formation and reintegration’’, while Rev. Fr. Dr. Patrick Alumuku, the founder of Catholic Television, Abuja, a former presenter of news at the African Desk at the Vatican Radio Rome, and president of Signis Nigeria/Director of Social Communications, Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja, will dwell on “Signis Nigeria and the Communications Apostolate: The past, the present and the future.’’
The statement invites all Catholic media practitioners and directors of social communications in every diocese in Nigeria to attend.
