Admonishing a gathering of youths during the 2019 youth day celebration at the Holy Martyrs of Uganda minor Seminary Effurun, Most Rev. John Afareha, the Local Ordinary of Warri diocese harped on the need for total discipline among the youths.
He said; “For you to receive the blessings of God, you must imitate and follow the commands of Jesus Christ who is the perfect teacher and leader”.
Speaking further, the bishop charged the youths to be creative and engage themselves in projects that will be beneficial to them and the church in general, stating that it is absurd for any youth to be idol as Jesus Himself was never idol during His earthly ministry.
“Involve yourself in entrepreneurial businesses, and organised programs that build your lives spiritually and build your careers, the bishop urged”.
According to bishop John, such activities will disengage the youths from social vices such as cultism, violence,thuggery, stealing and drug abuses and focus on Christ their leader.
