WARRI:- In an act of thanksgiving, appreciation to God and to express his love for humanity, Most Rev. John Oke’Oghene Afareha, Catholic bishop of Warri diocese, has played host to all children and physically challenged persons in the diocese of Warri and environs to mark his 45th priestly anniversary on December 30th.
The 45th thanksgiving celebration began with a Mass celebrated at the Sacred Heart Cathedral, Warri where the bishop was joined by the Administrator and Catholic faithful to thank God for His mercies and grace.
The bishop whose facial expression shows his gratitude to God, later took turn to celebrate the children and physically challenged persons from within and outside the Catholic denomination in Warri and environs to a sumptuos reception where he presented cash gifts and food to them as part of his 45th priestly anniversary and the yuletide celebration.
The celebration featured jokes and special dance by the children with the bishop and the physically challenged.
For past years, Most Rev. Afareha has always used his priestly anniversary celebration which come up on December 30th to put smiles on the faces of both the destitutes and the disabled in the diocese of Warri.
