Bereaved: Catholic Faithful In Nigeria Mourns The Death Of Bishop Adoboh

Catholic faithful in Nigeria and her well wishers has been thrown into mourning following the sudden demise of the Catholic Bishop of Katsina-Ala Diocese in Benue State Nigeria, Most Rev’d. Peter Iornzuul Adoboh.

He was age 62 and had a brief episcopacy.

The bishop was said to be battling with an undisclosed illness which sources said was at various times given medical treatment in the US, Canada and Italy.

According to the report, Bishop Peter Iornzuul Adoboh was taken to the Daughters of Charity Hospital, Abuja Nigeria, gave up the ghost in the early hours of February 14, 2020.

His remains was later taken back to his home diocese immediately after his death.

Late Bishop Peter Iornzuul Adoboh was appointed as the pioneer Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Katsina-Ala by Pope (Emeritus) Benedict XVI on December 29, 2012 and installed on February 23, 2013 at the age of 55.

The bishol has as his motto: Misericordia Dei Me Circumdat; The Mercy of God surrounds me.

Born on April 14, 1958 to the family of Abraham and Sarah Adoboh of Mbayion in Gboko local Government Area of Benue State, Nigeria.

Details of his burial to be announced later by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria.
