WARRI DIOCESE, NIGERIA:- Catholic media practitioners in Nigeria have been urged to use the Christmas season to renew their sincere zeal for the evangelization and promotion of positive values in the society.
In a Christmas message by the President, SIGNIS Nigeria, Very Rev. Fr. Dr. Patrick Alumuku and made available through the Secretary General, Mr. Tony Agbugba, Rev. Fr. Dr. Alumuku enjoined the various member organizations of SIGNIS Nigeria including Directorate of Social Communications in the various dioceses, Catholic Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria (CAMPAN) and Catholic Artistes and Entertainers Association of Nigeria (CAEAN), to continue to consolidate on the gains so far achieved in the year 2018 in order to forge a stronger and more united body in 2019.
Reverend Father Patrick Alumuku who is also the Director of Social Communications, Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja said, the task of evangelization through the modern means of Communications, can only be successfully achieved when the various member bodies under SIGNIS Nigeria continue to work together to champion the interests of the Church and for the progress of all its members.
He assured all SIGNIS members across the country of the determination and readiness of the the present executive to work hard in ensuring that they deliver on their mandate of building a virile communications apostolate for the Nigerian Church.
“We want to use this medium to say a big thank you to all our members and the good work they have done in 2018″.
“As we get set to enter the 2019, we want to assure you of our unalloyed commitment to create a more conducive platform for our members to work together in order to move the communications apostolate to the next level in the Catholic dioceses in Nigeria. In the New Year, we shall be laying more emphasis on ways of synergising for the professional development of members through regular training programmes, human *and* capital development and successful project executions. We have no doubt that we can achieve these and much more when we work together as a team.”
While wishing its members across the country a merry Christmas celebration, the clergy urged members *to contribute their quota towards free, fair and credible 2019 general elections in Nigeria and prayed that the New Year would be a more fruitful and spiritually enriching one for Signis members and indeed for everyone.*
