It was a wonderful celebration and a memorable day for the Knights of St. John International Warri Grand Commandery on the 4th of July, 2021 as the Grand celebrated her patron feast day and first year anniversary at St. Peter Catholic Church Ekete Inland in Udu Local government Area of Delta State.
The Holy mass which was celebrated by a visiting priest, Rev. Fr. John Oshogbo had in attendance parishioners of St. Peter’s Ekete inland and members of the knights of St. John international, Warri Grand Commandery.
In his homily, Rev. Fr. John Oshogbo admonished the faithful of the need to shun familiarity. He noted that “most Christians these days are Christians at day time but at night they are totally far from God.” He went further to say “we are too used to the things of God and no longer see God in the sacraments”.
He stressed the need to recognize the grace of God and the power of the minister. He went further to explain that Jesus didn’t do much miracle in his community because they failed to recognize him. Speaking further, he noted that the reason we don’t receive miracles is because we are hostile towards God.
The celebration featured thanksgiving, reception, dances and the height of the ceremony was the cutting of the anniversary cake.
